Adventures of Tom Sawyer Update

June 15, 2020

Yes you heard right! CB Productions is remounting the postponed production of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and filming it for paid ticket holders to watch online – and boy are we excited to embark on this new adventure.

We were so close to performing this show and waiting with great anticipation to share what we had created, and then the shutdown hit.  Since then, CB has spent the last several months brainstorming, trying to create the best possible way to finish what we started and perform the show while working to keep everyone safe during this pandemic: cast, band, crew, designers and audience alike. Now that the State is finally reopening we know that performing online is the best and only answer for all.

Now this video will not be just another show performed and recorded on ZOOM, with each of the actors shooting their parts in their houses. Nope! CB has been busy reworking the script and re-blocking the show so that actors will remain safe while rehearsing and performing for the video. She is partnering with the best team of professional artists ever to design and shoot the entire production, using several cameras, from start to finish while on location, utilizing both the inside and outside of a small barn located on a beautiful piece of countryside just north of the Twin Cities.

Once the video is shot and edited CB will make the show available ONLINE for a limited time to paid ticket holders only! Purchasers will be sent a link and a password to a site where they will be able to view the show at their convenience during the week of August 7-15, 2020. Once online, you will have front row seats right in the comfort of you home, ready to settle in for a night filled with laughter and great entertainment.

If you have NOT purchased tickets for Tom Sawyer, but would like to do so, we will be sending information out in the next several weeks so you can do just that – so stay tuned.

Can’t wait to see you in August.  CB

April 3, 2020

Our designers have made the set, costumes and props and are storing them until we can load in. The play is rehearsed, on-hold and ready to go. The actors are waiting to get the call for “pick-up rehearsals” .The audience has made their reservations and are “holding” until we get the “go ahead.” It seems we are all waiting in the wings to go on, but all we can do is to take a deep breath and wait for our “cue” and the stage lights will go on.
Yes we are ready and anxious to go on stage, but once we get the “go ahead” we still will have a lot of things to work out coordinating the dates with 40 cast/crew/band members, Neighborhood House, and designers. Once this is in place, we will get in touch with all of our tickets holders and let you know our plans. As you can imagine, it is an extremely shaky time for small arts organizations such as CB Productions and I thank you so much for your constant love, support and your patience. All I can do is JUST BREATHE.

My Dear CB Productions Theater Family,

CB Productions’ highest priority is protecting the health and safety of our audience, cast/crew, designers, volunteers, and the general public that make up our community. We spent the last several days monitoring and working on developing the best response to the acceleration of the COVID-19 virus; thus, at the recommendation of the MN Department of Health and Governor Tim Walz, we are postponing ALL performances of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” to a later date.

As you know we cannot predict the future of this virus, and we are unable to  give you a definite rescheduled date at this time; however, we are optimistically targeting the dates between the end of April through the end of June, 2020. Once we have firmed up the new dates and times, you will be the first to know! We will send you another email with details on how to transfer your current ticket reservation to the new schedule that works best for you. Yes! All current reservations will be honored.

We believe this is the best solution to a very difficult situation and I beg that you PLEASE BE PATIENT AND REMAIN FLEXIBLE as we work through the many moving pieces of organizing this postponement and navigate through these uncharted waters.

Until you hear from us again: be safe, stay healthy and be smart – follow the guidelines of the CDC and WHO. We need to work together now to combat this extremely difficult situation.

I will see you again soon at our Theatre!
