Creative Drama is an integrative process that develops imaginative thought and creative expression in children – in essence it is a collection of dramatic activities which have the experience of the participants as the goal.”

Creative Dramatics

Thursdays Sept-Dec 2019 & Jan-Apr 2020

4th-5th Graders 9:00-9:55

2nd-3rd Graders 10:00-10:55

In this fun and energetic first-step theater class, students will be encouraged to use their imaginations, senses, voices and bodies to improvise from age-appropriate stories, poems, music and legends. Throughout the semester, CB Teaching Artists, Rachel Hall and Jaida Ruis, will lead students through guided theater activities, creative play and movement while participating in story drama, pantomime, process drama, puppetry, role play, improvisation, and fun theatre games. Creative Dramatics is centered around learning through play, and encourages each player to share ideas in a non-competitive, inspiring environment, rather than the goal of a final theatrical production; but don’t worry, parents and friends will be invited to observe and/or participate in the final class each semester.
